The Evangelical Church in Murska Sobota
The Evangelical Church in Murska Sobota stands in the city center in the park axis of Martin Luther’s avenue and connects with the Murska Sobota Castle in the city park through Trubar’s avenue. The view of the church from the city park is more than magnificent, with the brick exterior adorned by three facade towers, the central of which grows into a high bell tower, and its interior is enchanted with paintings and a window rosette above the main entrance, repeated in the altarpiece with the image of Martin Luther. A visit to the Neo-Gothic church in the Slovenian Protestant capital will take you back to the history of the 16th century, when reformers such as Jurij Dalmatin, Primož Trubar, Sebastjan Krelj and others laid the foundation for the Slovene language and will be talked about by the locals for centuries to come. A special experience are music concerts, which are not uncommon in the Evangelical Church in Murska Sobota.
