Trg Zmage Square Murska Sobota
Discovering the cultural and historical landmarks of the regional center of Pomurje, the town of Murska Sobota, with its image and pleasant location, you will be attracted to the central town square next to the city park. This is Trg Zmage Square (Eng.: The Victory Square). It was erected in 1945 to commemorate liberation from Soviet troops. It is built of white imperial marble, on the front are statues of a Slovenian partisan and a Russian soldier, and on both side platforms you can see the cannons, which were part of the then military equipment. Although the monument is a unique symbol of Murska Sobota and its history, Trg zmage is not only a cultural and historical landmark, but, above all, a hub for socializing. Join us for a traditional march or the commemoration of the day of victory over Nazism. Trg zmage is also a great starting point for discovering the town of Murska Sobota and its surroundings, located in the middle of the city center, surrounded by other attractions and sights.
