Route description
The route begins in Murska Sobota, from where you will firstly cycle to Markišavci, where all meat lovers will be very satisfied. We recommend you visit the local ham shop that has its own protected brand called “Smells like Prekmurje”. From there you will cycle to Polana and stop by the local inn, where storks have found their home. You will pass the Černelavci village and get to Krog and the Mura River. Continue your journey towards Bakovci, where you will get a chance to drive with a ferry, relax by the river or rest in one of the traditional local bars. Your journey will continue towards Rakičan and its airport. If you feel adventurous enough, you can see the landscape from the bird’s perspective. Continue pedalling to the Rakičan Mansion with its own equestrian centre (horse riding is also an option) and surrounded by wonderful English park that is perfect for relaxation. After taking a short break, continue towards Noršinci, followed by Tešanovci, where you will be able to try some sweet delicacies in the local chocolate shop. Drive to Moravske Toplice, which is a popular tourist place and visit its local tourist-informative centre. Here, you will get all the information you need. If you decide to relax for a little bit, the local spa centre with pools is the perfect option for that. We also recommend you visit the Evangelical church in the centre of the village. Follow the cycling path towards Martjanci and look at the murals by Janez Akvila in the gothic church. The route ends in Murska Sobota.
This route is suitable for a family of group cycling trip. You can stop and discover local culinary delicacies from different vendors along the way.
