Films: Peaky Blinders and April '41

On the anniversary of the attack, we invite you to the Gornja Radgona Youth Center on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 6 p.m. to a screening of the war-historical film Ostri vrh and the documentary film April '41. Free admission!

The documentary film APRIL '41, with the help of renowned historians and archival material, systematically presents the clashes that took place in the first hours of the German invasion of Slovenia. It also includes the decisive moments that took place in Gornja Radgona that day: the breakthrough of the German army across the border into Gornja Radgona, critical mistakes by the army of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia on the right bank of the Mura River, and the short but hard battles that took place along the entire border.

The film The Sharp Peak depicts a group of soldiers of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia who are sent to the northern border just before the war begins. The mood within the group is tense, as everyone is aware that they will very soon encounter the enemy army, and this unpleasant expectation gives rise to a whole host of interpersonal conflicts, inner doubts and fears.

The screenings will be followed by a discussion with the film crew.
