Travelogue Lecture by Erik Valenčič: The Other Side of the Venezuela Story

KUD ZRAK Gornja Radgona and the Gornja Radgona Youth Center invite you to a lecture by Erik Valenčič on Venezuelan communes, cooperatives and collectives, in which millions of people work. Valenčič has visited Venezuela three times, most recently in January this year, and has researched autonomous communities – from rural socialist communes to armed revolutionary groups that have taken control of security and organized popular power in the favelas of Caracas. While foreign media emphasize departures due to sanctions, the story of the millions who are building one of the largest social experiments in South America and shaping a possible alternative to neoliberalism remains ignored. The lecture will be supported by photographs taken during his travels.
The event will take place on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the Gornja Radgona Youth Center.
