1. Festive spirit
Villages and towns in Pomurje are festively decorated with holiday lights. Outdoor events invite you to brighten up your evenings and weekends. A variety of events await you in Lendava, Ljutomer, Murski Soboti and Moravske Toplice, where the garden gnome Fric is waiting for you in Santa's office. In Gornja Radgona, the Fairytale Town awaits you, the living nativity scene in Razkrižje or many performances for children, also in Beltinci, etc.
Even in smaller villages you are invited to experience a piece of a winter fairy tale, e.g., in Lon?arovci, where a magical village awaits you, or in Veržej, beekeeper Tigeli invites you to visit the exhibition of honey bread houses until 6th January.
2. Ice rinks
Winter joys on ice skates awaken the child in all of us. And where can you ice-skate when visiting Pomurje? You can choose between two large ice rinks in Ljutomer and in Murska Sobota.
3. Tropical Garden
Welcome to 1500 m2 of jungle with more than 900 exotic specimens of about 400 plant species. There is always summer in this tropical garden. The garden harbours also the production of orchids for sale. Daily bloom around 4,000 orchid plants, and you are able to see this production from the garden. In addition to numerous species of orchids in the garden, you can admire interesting tropical and subtropical plants from around the world. In this 6-meter-high building, you can see many plants up close and growing tall, such as bananas, avocados, vanilla, papaya, mango, pineapple, ylang-ylang, taro, ginger, star fruit, and carnivore plants, coffee, pepper, flamingo flower, and many more.
4. Pampering in the thermal baths
When it's pleasantly snowing outside, and the year is slowly coming to an end, it's time to unwind. In Pomurje, you can choose from six thermal spas and health resorts that offer plenty of opportunity for special pampering.
5. Prepare a traditional desert Prleška gibanica
Prlekija is famous for its local cuisine and the production of top-quality wines. Stop there and pamper your taste buds with everything the region has to offer. You are invited to prepare Prleška gibanica yourself, and while it is baking create your own souvenir at the traditional pottery studio. Excellent cuisine combined with experiencing traditional craftsmanship.
