Kolenko's Mill

Kolenko's Mill products are always freshly ground and therefore preserve the natural nutrition and the fullness of flavours on which the customary cooking traditions and practices of the culinary arts of Prekmurje are based. Cereals and seeds maturing in the fertile soil of local farmers are diligently milled under the millstones of two separate mills, conventional and organic, which is a unique feature in Slovenia. In the small store the buyers can find flour milled from buckwheat, spelt, maize/corn, wheat, oats, rye and khorasan wheat, various porridges, groats, flakes, and pasta. It is a truly genuine experience to observe the life of this traditional craft in the old quern-stones operating in the wooden mill, which is by itself considered a local cultural heritage. When you announce your visit in advance, they will prepare a tasting of homemade salty and sweet delicacies in which you can fully experience excellent ingredients which are created under the millstones.
